Ethan is a health and fitness coach based out of the Portland area, and lead instructor at Hardstyle Strength. Eight years ago Ethan changed career paths to pursue his new life mission of helping others take charge of their personal health. He went back to school at Portland State University to study exercise and sport science, and along the way he became a certified personal trainer and started his career. Ethan continues to be an education-based practitioner, which has led him to a number of certifications based in optimal movement and performance. He began hardstyle kettlebell training in 2016 and has since adopted this methodology into his coaching philosophy. Ethan has earned the highest level of kettlebell certification offered as well as being invited to assist on the coaching staff for the StrongFirst organization. He has also worked with other prestigious organizations including The United States Olympic Committee: in 2018 he was accepted into the USOC program from an application pool of over 4,000 trainers and is now a USOC certified coach. Ethan believes that fundamental movement performed with excellence will always yield the best outcome.

Ty is a NESTA certified personal trainer at HardStyle Strength. Born in San Diego, California but raised in Beaverton, Oregon, Ty enjoys spending time with his fiancé Teal and their amazing two year-old daughter Roe. Ty loves camping, listening to music, playing sports, and watching movies. Ty was a three-sport athlete in high school, and was offered a scholarship to continue his football career and education at Western Oregon University. After his college days he spent five years playing arena football, and began coaching high school football and training athletes. He has been a personal trainer for five years and his specialties are sports performance, weight loss, and strength training. Ty’s philosophy is that everyone has an inner athlete within them, it’s just a matter of finding that inside yourself and becoming the best athlete you can. Ty wants to help you find that inner athlete and help you achieve your goals.
Teal is an accredited StrongFirst instructor with both kettlebell certifications. Teal has not always maintained a healthy lifestyle. In high school she was well-rounded in athletics and played volleyball, basketball, golf, and racquetball until doctors discovered a rare abnormality in both her ankles. Twelve surgeries later and in her early twenties, she had gained 80lbs and was told by doctors to only exercise in the pool…until she was introduced to kettlebells. She learned the endurance and strength training that came with just a simple kettlebell swing, and movements that would actually end up relieving some of her chronic pain and helping her lose much of her excess weight. Teal uses low impact ideology with her students. She believes strength training can be used to help chronic pain as well as to aid and prevent injuries. Most importantly, Teal is mother to a rambunctious daughter, she is a fiancé, and is a Portland, Oregon native.

Paris is the owner of Hardstyle Strength. He grew up in the Portland area where he was an amateur boxer and won two state gold medals and a silver in regionals. At age 18 he joined the Army as a combat medic and he spent the next seven years traveling the world and gaining valuable life experience. After the Army he worked in an endocrinology office for three years, studying the effects of a sedentary lifestyle and poor nutrition, and this experience led him into the preventive world of fitness education. After 15 years of traditional, power, and Olympic lifting, Paris found Hardstyle kettlebells and never looked back. Since then he has achieved the highest level of kettlebell education from the most scientifically-backed organization in existence, and has earned his barbell instructor certification. He obtained the title of Beast Tamer after completing a feat of strength achieved only by a small number of certified instructors.
